The IDOT project at Terra Cotta Road involved reconstruction and traffic signal modernization at the intersection of IL-31 at IL-176 and at Terra Cotta Road. The project was undertaken to increase safety and service for the public.

This project involved removing an existing fifth leg of the intersection and replacing the configuration with a four-legged intersection. The new intersection includes dedicated left, thru, and right turn lanes.  An existing gas station was also removed to create a 10-foot-deep retention pond adjacent to a cul-de-sac.
