The O’Hare International Airport Multi-modal Facility combines the Consolidated Rental Car Facility (ConRAC) and Airport Transit System (ATS) extension at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, along with bus terminals and commuter train access to form a new multimodal hub. This $800M development relocated and consolidated existing rental car facilities, providing 4,100 rental car parking spaces, 2,200 public parking spaces for airport users, quick turnaround areas, and a customer service center.

The project also features a new terminal station for the ATS, located away from the impact zone of the planned runway 9C/27C. The existing ATS maintenance facility was expanded to house additional transit cars to accommodate increased ridership on the transit system after the completion of the ConRAC facility. The station transforms the car rental process and its dramatic architecture serves as a new welcome center for travelers and Chicagoland residents alike.

Working as part of the Austin Power Partners team, Cotter provided estimating, constructability, value engineering review, design review, construction management, field engineering, procurement management, contract management and administration, document management, and LEED consulting services.
